Rian Urena
Advisory Council Member
Rian Urena is a Vice President and Community Manager for Austin at JPMorgan Chase, where she focuses on community engagement, outreach, and financial education initiatives that expand access to banking resources across the region. She previously served as a Branch Manager and Mobile Branch Financial Ambassador with University Federal Credit Union, where she led campus engagement at the University of Texas, built strategic partnerships, and delivered financial education programs across the community. Earlier in her career, she worked in learning and development, designing and facilitating training programs that supported employee development and organizational initiatives.
Rian holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she was a student athlete competing in track and cross country. She is a DDI certified facilitator and has a strong passion for teaching financial literacy by connecting with individuals and sharing practical experiences that help strengthen financial well being.
Her community involvement includes three years of board leadership with the Austin Chapter of Credit Unions, where she served on the Marketing and PR committee, and participation with the Austin Young Chamber. During her time working with the University of Texas community, she helped lead the NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) financial education program for student athletes, coordinating educational sessions, activities, and panel discussions while also managing student organization partnerships and financial education events across campus.
Outside of her professional and community work, Rian enjoys spending time outdoors running, swimming, and biking. She is married to her husband, Javier, and they share their home with two cats, Ramadi and Azrag.
