Job description

Central Texas Table of Grace, an emergency shelter for foster children, is currently seeking direct care staff. We welcome applicants of all genders who have a passion for working with children and youth, are energetic, and are eager to learn. Although experience in treatment settings is preferred, it is not a requirement. We operate 24/7 and offer a variety of shifts during weekdays and weekends, including 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 4pm-11pm, 6pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am. At Table of Grace, we provide care for boys and girls ages 5 to 17 who have experienced abuse, neglect, and trauma. Our holistic, trauma-informed care emphasizes safety, well-being, and healing. We aim to guide children and youth in making positive choices and adopting healthy lifestyles. Through building relationships, we offer hope and create a strong foundation for future success. Direct Care staff are responsible for maintaining a safe environment, establishing a therapeutic setting, and overseeing daily and recreational activities. Duties include assisting with morning routines, supporting education and schoolwork, supervising hygiene, mentoring, listening, and providing nurturing care. Staff members also serve as positive role models, ensure structure and accountability through rules and guidelines, and empower youth by giving them a voice. Pre-service training and ongoing education are provided in areas such as CPR/First Aid, Emergency Behavior Intervention, and Trauma-Informed Care, along with other relevant topics. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older and must complete a Criminal Background Check, Central Registry Check, FBI digital fingerprinting, a TB test, and a pre-employment drug screening. A valid driver's license and proof of insurance are required. The starting pay is $13.00 per hour, with opportunities for wage increases based on experience and performance after the probationary period.
