Cecily Cantu

Cecily Cantu was raised in Brownsville, Texas, and relocated to Austin in 2019. She began her professional career at Central Texas Table of Grace in 2022. Her work at Table of Grace has ignited a deep passion for caring for children in foster care, a passion shaped by her own childhood experiences and hardships. Cecily’s personal history has given her a profound understanding of the challenges children face, allowing her to connect with them on a meaningful level. She aims to inspire the children to understand that with perseverance, courage, and faith, they can overcome their challenges and achieve a promising future.

In 2024, Cecily took on a short-term role at The Settlement Home for Children, a Residential Treatment Facility, further expanding her experience and dedication to helping children in need.

As the Lead Caregiver at Central Texas Table of Grace, Cecily plays a key role in supervising daily activities, providing emotional support, and creating a nurturing environment that promotes healing, growth, and positive behavior. She uses her patience, compassion, and empathy to implement and monitor behavior management strategies, focusing on guiding children towards appropriate behaviors through positive reinforcement and other supportive techniques.

Outside of her professional life, Cecily enjoys skateboarding, swimming, playing guitar and ukulele, and writing. She is also a proud mother to a beautiful 8-year-old cat named Lily.
